The people behind
the program.

Built by trainers who believe that structure and care are not opposites — they are the same thing.

"We don't just walk dogs. We train their nervous systems — building the emotional foundation they need to move confidently through the real world."

Founder & Lead Trainer

Elisa Barquete

Founder & Lead Trainer

Originally from Brazil and now based in Los Angeles, Elisa founded The Adventures Club after years of hands-on work as a dog hiker and trainer.

What began as daily hikes evolved into a deeper study of canine behavior, nervous system regulation, and real-world exposure.

She leads the training philosophy of the program, focusing on emotional balance, structured movement, and building confident, adaptable dogs.

She works closely with Amanda in both training and program development, ensuring every detail reflects the standards they've built together.

Amanda Wasman

Owner & Co-Founder | Lead Trainer

Amanda is the owner and co-founder of The Adventures Club and works alongside Elisa in both training and operations.

Also originally from Brazil, Amanda brings steady leadership, structure, and hands-on experience to the field. She leads group sessions, conducts private training, and oversees the operational foundation of the program.

Together, Amanda and Elisa built The Adventures Club as partners — in business and in life — blending structure, experience, and shared vision into a thoughtfully designed program.

Ben

Trainer

Ben has been part of The Adventures Club since the beginning. As our first driving trainer, he helped build the rhythm and standard of the program from day one. Calm, confident, and intuitive, his steady presence helps regulate group energy and create a sense of safety in the field. When he's not leading adventures, Ben can often be found in museums, galleries, or painting — especially expressive dog portraits.

José Lucas

Trainer

José has worked alongside Elisa since the early days — long before The Adventures Club officially existed. He witnessed the evolution from simple dog hikes to the structured, intentionally designed program it is today. Calm, observant, and quick to learn, José helps lead adventures across Los Angeles with consistency and care. Outside of training, he runs his own game development company.
